Set up the Lab Management Manager node

To set up the Manager node, you'll need to create it, configure the site.conf file, run the installer, allow access to the TeamForge or CEE site from the Manager node, and determine where to deploy the other Infrastructure nodes.

  1. Prepare a host to be a Lab Management Manager node
    Lab Management 2.3 provides a kickstart configuration file that makes it is easier for on-site customers to create the Manager node.
  2. Create the Manager node
    To create the Lab Management Manager, you create NFS volumes for operating system images and users’ home directories and assign static IP addresses to the Manager.
  3. Customize the site configuration file
    Preparing your site involves customizing the site.conf file, which also contains basic instructions (in its README section and in comments) for modifying various elements to successfully install Lab Management.
  4. Run the Lab Management installer
    When all the required packages are in place, you can run the Lab Management installer.
  5. Allow access to the main site from Lab Management
    The Lab Management Manager node and the Lab Management subnets need access to the CollabNet TeamForge or CEE site on specific ports.
