Hardware and software requirements for the Lab Management Manager server

The requirements for the Lab Management Manager server are as follows.

Hardware

Intel-based, server-class hardware with excellent redundancy (CollabNet recommends a mirrored-disk volume just in case one disk malfunctions, the data is still preserved on the other disk.)

Software

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, latest update

Memory

4 GB of RAM

CPU

2 fast CPUs, 2.4 Ghz or better to run the Web site, which serves the Subversion repository that generates a significant amount of Web traffic

Storage
  • 140 GB Hard Disk
  • If the Lab Management Manager server also houses the NFS volume for the users' home directories, then you must modify the specifications. In this case, the size of the hard disk must account for the extra space required for the users' home directories. If the home directories are located on a separate NFS server, then you can eliminate this factor in calculating your storage requirements.
Network

Gigabit network, one that can support a high volume of Web traffic for Subversion activity (such as file repository check-ins, check-outs, and serving images)
