Define a global user attribute

When you define a global user attribute, that attribute is available for all tracker admins on your site to offer their project members.

  1. Go to the Project Tracker administration page.
    1. Click Admin in the CollabNet TeamForge navigation bar.
    2. On the site administration navigation bar, click Integrated App.
    3. Select Project Tracker and click Configure.
  2. On the Project Tracker configuration page, click Global User Attributes > Create New.
  3. On the Create New Global User Attributes page, provide a name and description.
Tip: Descriptions help users learn how best to provide the information you want from them. To maximize your chances of getting useful data, make your description as informative as you can.
  4. Select a value from the Namespace list. You can associate a user attribute with one of the two default namespace values (Default and IT to PT conversion), or with a namespace created during an import of a project template archive. For more information about namespaces, see namespace
  5. In the Email action list, choose whether users with this attribute are automatically sent email when an artifact using this attribute is created or modified. For instance, a Defect artifact may contain an attribute named CC that indicates that users who are assigned this attribute are copied on email that are sent when a defect is added or modified.
  6. Assign a base permission to a user who has been added to the project.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Click Done.
