Configure a CEE instance for Lab Management

Because Lab Management's permissions are based on CEE's users, projects, roles, and permissions, you need to make some slight configuration changes to CEE for Lab Management to work as expected.

Perform these steps on a CEE site to integrate it into Lab Management.

  1. Set up roles in CEE
    To get a CEE site ready for Lab Management, you need to create several specially-named roles on the site.
  2. Set up users in CEE
    You do not need to make any changes to users in CEE except to assign them Lab Management roles. The CEE users with the Project Owner role, the Domain Admin role, or the Host Admin role automatically receive the corresponding roles in Lab Management.
  3. Set up permissions in CEE
    You do not need to make any changes to CEE permissions, since Lab Management's roles do not require permissions attached to the roles.
  4. Set up projects in CEE
    To create or configure a project in Lab Management, you do not have to do anything to the project in CEE. The Lab Management Domain Administrator configures the projects in the Lab Management Web Console.
