When you have finished configuring the connector and made sure that the database and connector scenario services are running, you can start synchronizing artifacts.
Note: By default, synchronization is paused while you set up the connector mappings. You need to explicitly resume synchronization in order to start shipping artifacts.
Right-click the project mapping in your connector landscape and select Resume synchronization.
You should see this icon change to green:
