Install TeamForge on VMware ESXi

The VMware ESXi 5.1 or later image server is ideal for large TeamForge user installations due to its simplified installation process. You can download the CollabNet TeamForge installer from CollabNet and unzip it on the machine to host your TeamForge site.

To install TeamForge 8.2 on a VMware ESXi server:

1. Contact the CollabNet Support and download the TeamForge installer zip file.
2. Unzip the TeamForge-8.2.0.0-182-VMware.zip file.
3. Run the VMware vSphere Client and select the VMware ESXi host on which you want to install TeamForge.
4. Select File > Deploy OVF Template. The Deploy OVF Template dialog box appears.
5. Click Browse and select the TeamForge-82.ova file from where you unzipped the TeamForge-8.2.0.0-182-VMware.zip file earlier.
6. Click Next. The OVF Template Details wizard appears.
7. Click Next.
8. Type a name, for example "TeamForge-8.2" and click Next.
9. Select the Thin Provision check box and click Next.
10. Clear the Power On after Deployment check box if it's selected by default.
11. Click Finish. Wait for the OVF template deployment to complete.
12. Click Close when the deployment is complete. Open the main VMware vSphere Client window and expand the VMware ESXi host to see the "TeamForge-8.2" virtual machine.
13. Select the "TeamForge-8.2" virtual machine.
14. Select the Summary tab from the work area.
15. Click Edit Settings.
16. Configure the hardware settings:
    1. Set the memory to 4096 MB. You may increase the memory for better performance.
    2. Set the CPU as 2 Cores.
    3. Set the hard disk memory as 100 GB.
    4. Click OK.
17. Start the TeamForge virtual machine: click Power On on the Summary tab. Select the Console tab to view the TeamForge virtual machine's console output.
