Change a user's association with an artifact

You can associate users with a single artifact or a group of artifacts.

In general, user associations are created in three steps:
  1. Select one or more users to associate with the artifact or artifacts.
  2. Define or edit the association type for each user.
  3. Provide a reason for the change.
Note: You can enter one or more user names in the text boxes to associate them with the artifact. Separate multiple user names with a comma, semicolon, or a space. To select from a list of all available users, click "Browse users..."

You may need to alter the association type of one or more users through the life cycle of an artifact. The artifact may need to be reassigned or a user may only want to be copied on changes made instead of being responsible for the artifact.

  1. Select the artifact you wish to affect, either through a query or by artifact ID.
  2. Associate users with the artifacts.
    • If you know the username you want to associate with the artifacts, enter it in the association type field.
    • If you do not know the username or want to select more than one user click Browse users... in the Associate user with above artifacts to see a list of available users.
  3. Remove the names you wish to change and associate new users with the artifact.
    • If you know the username you want to associate with the artifact, enter it in the association type field.
    • If you do not know the username or want to select more than one user click Browse users... to see a list of available users. The Browse users... button opens a dialog box with two tabs Project members and All users:
    • Select the users you want from the All users or the Project members table by clicking the name or the checkbox next to the username if you intend to select more than one.
  4. Enter an explanation for the change in the Reason field.
  5. Click Save changes to finish your task
