Migrating project pages

Here are the migration details and migration notes for project pages.

Migration Overview

  • For PCE-enabled subversion projects, CTF 6.0 Home Page is replaced with CEE Home Page.
  • For CVS and non-PCE enabled subversion projects, CTF 6.0 Home Page is replaced with remote publishing content (index.html).
  • Irrespective of the home page being a PCE-enabled or non-PCE enabled page in CTF, subprojects are listed in CTF, if those were displayed in CEE's home page.
  • Top level pages and sub-pages are retained.
  • The HTML, Activity table, Subprojects, freeform pages and documents components of CEE are migrated to CTF 6.0.
Note: The documents PCE content in CEE is migrated to the Documents tools in CTF 6.0 and the functionality to display the same via CTF 6.0 Docs PCE is provided. Post migration, the documents relevant to PCE are stored under the Documents from CEE Project Pages folder. Appropriate permissions on the Documents tool in CTF 6.0 are required.
  • CEE’s HTML and Activity table components are migrated to the Text component in CTF 6.0.

This table shows how fields in CEE map to fields in CTF 6.0:

CEE field CTF 6.0 field
Home Page CEE Home Page - for PCE enabled Subversion projects
Home Page Index.html - for CVS/Non-PCE enabled Subversion projects
Top level - Sub pages associations Top level - Sub pages associations
Html, Activity table, Subprojects, Free form pages, Document components Text, Subprojects, Free form pages, Document components

Notes

  • The free-form page links mentioned in the sub-pages do not work in CTF 6.0 as URL compatibility doesn’t work for free-form links referred in HTML components. The CTF 6.0 site/project admin would need to point the links to correct pages.
  • The icons added in sub-page are not migrated to CTF 6.0.
  • The CEE components that are not migrated to CTF 6.0 include: Metrics report, milestones and project overview.
  • Subproject component configured in CEE's PCE page is migrated with the subproject displayed in project home page. In CEE if PCE was not configured and default subproject component were displayed in the home page, after migration to CTF, project home page displays the 'Default Project Home page'.
  • In CTF 6.0, you can enable the PCE for CVS projects, if desired.
  • The project page content is not version controlled in CTF 6.0. During migration, CEE's latest version is moved over to CTF 6.0. The old information (older revisions) can be accessed through the current project's subversion repository from trunk/www/cn-project-pages/.
