Mixed-Access deployment is the most flexible of the three deployment types. The Client nodes are accessible from outside the Lab Management environment, that is, they are generally available to your entire company. The benefit of this deployment type is that Lab Management still manages it.
Applications that require access by developers and others in your company (non-developers) are the reason to adopt this Lab Management deployment configuration. For example, a Client node is set up to house a Beta copy of an application that your company is developing. The company wants the assistance of all types of its employees to test it. In this case, you get the ease-of-management of Lab Management machines (for testing and development) while enabling regular users to easily access them. The other Client nodes that are exclusive to the use of developers and testers also reside in this deployment and are protected from unauthorized use.
Lab Management's ability to manage multiple subnets makes Mixed-Access Deployment easy to set up. You can have one subnet with a routable network address and another subnet with a non-routable network address. The hosts on the routable network serve as the machines that the general public can access while those on the non-routable network serve Lab Management users through the Lab Management Manager. or Lab Management services.
