Help for system administrators on VMware

This guide supports installing and upgrading the VMware version of CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.1.

CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.1 can run as a virtual machine image in a VMWare Player. You get all the functionality of CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.1 with the ease of installation and maintenance that comes with VMWare.

To access CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.1, one user (generally the site administrator) must configure and run the CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.1 application server in VMware Player. When the CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.1 application server is running, other users can access it via a Web browser. These users do not need to run VMware Player.

• Install CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.1
  To get the functionality of CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.1 with the ease of installation and maintenance that comes with VMWare, run CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.1 in a VMWare player.
• Upgrade to CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.1
  You can upgrade to CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.1 from SourceForge Enterprise Edition 4.4 Service Pack 1, or from CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.0.
• Start CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.1 manually
  If you configured CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.1 to start manually, start it after the SourceForge VMware image finishes booting.
