Preinstall checklist

Before you get started, here are some things you may want to do.

Root access

You must be able to log onto the machine as the root user to install CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.1.

Networking

If your site must be accessible over the Internet, ask your IT staff to set up the necessary domain name services.

Firewall

Verify that there are no security restrictions, such as firewall settings, that might keep your application server from communicating with other nodes on your network or the Internet.

File permissions

Use the umask command to check that any new files created during installation will get the right file permissions. If necessary, change the umask back to the default setting, 0022.
