If you are upgrading to CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.0...

If you are installing CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.0 as part of an upgrade from SourceForge Enterprise Edition 4.4 SP1, take these extra steps to set up your data and environment.

You can upgrade to CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.0 from a SourceForge Enterprise Edition 4.4 SP1 site that is running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.
Important: If your SourceForge Enterprise Edition 4.4 site is on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3, you must first upgrade the operating system to one of the supported versions for CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.0.
Note: Skip these steps if you are installing a new instance of CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.0.
  1. Get the CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.0 migration package
    Download the data migration software to the machine hosting the new application server.
  2. Copy configuration settings from the old site
    If you are installing CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.0 as part of an upgrade from SourceForge Enterprise Edition 4.4 SP1, get the configuration settings from your old SourceForge site and update them for your new site.
  3. Stop SourceForge Enterprise Edition 4.4
    Stop the old instance of SourceForge Enterprise Edition and get your data ready to migrate to CollabNet SourceForgeEnterprise 5.0.
  4. Preserve site data files
    When you upgrade from SourceForge Enterprise Edition 4.4. SP1 to CollabNet SourceForge Enterprise 5.0, you must manually copy certain data files from the 4.4 SP1 site to their proper location in the new installation.
