Add your working copy to the Working Copy Explorer

To easily work with files and folders in your local copy of the repository, including ones that are not part of your project or solution, add their location to the Working Copy Explorer.

In the View menu, select Working Copy Explorer.
In the Working Copy Explorer, right-click on the left pane and select Add new root.
In the Add working copy root window, specify the path to your local working copy and click OK.

In the Working Copy Explorer, you can right-click on a local file or folder and use the same version control commands as in the Solution Explorer.
