What is CollabNet Desktop - Microsoft Outlook Edition?

The CollabNet Desktop for Microsoft Outlook enables you to access CollabNet TeamForge functionality from within Outlook.

When you install this Desktop, a CollabNet tab is added. Outlook's View and Home tabs are updated for TeamForge features, and new options are added to the context menu for Outlook mail items as well.

The CollabNet tab provides these views and actions -- click an icon for more information:

The Site Explorer provides a tree view of your CollabNet sites.
The Workspace hosts editors such as the Artifact Editor, Planning Editor and Favorites.

You can also access the views from Outlook's View tab.

The Add Site action lets you define a connection to a TeamForge server.
Import Query lets you import TeamForge query definitions from the file system.
The Create Mail action enables you to compose email directly from TeamForge tracker artifacts or tasks.
Create TeamForge Artifact allows you to add new TeamForge artifacts from Outlook items such as email messages or tasks.

Tip: To automatically check for updates to the Desktop, set your preference in the CollabNet Add-in Options dialog. (To bring up this dialog, select File > Options > Add-Ins and click Add-In Options.)
