Add a new issue when you want to report a defect, or request and track a task, feature or enhancement.
There are five types of issues:
- Defect: a problem with an existing feature that is not developed according to specifications, or does not work as designed. These are often referred to as "bugs."
- Enhancement: an improvement to an existing feature.
- Feature: an addition to the software to add a piece of functionality that does not yet exist.
- Task: an activity to be done on behalf or in support of a feature or enhancement. Tasks do not typically require direct changes to the code base.
- Patch: a special kind of issue - a section of code to be applied or attached to existing software. Often, a patch fixes a defect.
- In the CollabNet Sites view, right-click the Issue Tracker node under a CollabNet Enterprise Edition project. and select .
- In the New Issue Tracker Task dialog, select a component for the issue.
Note: To make sure that the list displays all components available in the repository, click Update Components from Repository.
- Click Finish.
The task editor displays the fields for the new issue.
- In the New Task editor, specify Subcomponent, Summary and Description which are required field. The other fields are optional.
- Assign the task a priority between 1 (highest) and 5 (lowest).
- Assign the task to an individual.
- Click Submit.
